Beatrice Anctil and Katie Kanter are both well-respected seniors with amazing accomplishments and senses of style. Beatrice has attended The Gregory School school since 6th grade, while Katie joined the community as a freshman.
Although Katie didn't go to The Gregory school until 9th grade, she and Beatrice were destined to be best friends with the help of Tumblr and a mutual friend. Beatrice recalls that she “felt so special when [Katie] followed [her].”
Due to their mutual interests in creating art, photography, and a difference in the world, they immediately clicked and their friendship became “a blessing from God.”
Both have made a huge impact on the school. Katie has exemplified taking charge and helping others by running for Student Council president. Additionally, she is currently the senior Student Council representative. Beatrice plays a huge part in various school needs by designing club shirts, props for plays and many other much needed things.
Beatrice and Katie are eager to branch out and continue their journey, but also believe that high school “goes by really fast, so [they] encourage others to cherish the moment, use time wisely, persevere, and find your passion by experimenting.”
Beatrice states that “Homecomings and hanging out with the seniors when [she] was a freshman” is something that she will always remember, while Katie believes that the sophomore interim trip was her favorite memory from her time at TGS.
They are both ready to step out of their comfort zones and hopefully follow their dreams in New York City. Katie will continue pushing to be involved in politics, and will, no doubt, excel. Beatrice plans to intertwine her passion for art into whatever she shines at.
We will miss their presence next year, but we will all know that they will make a difference wherever they end up. We wish them as much happiness and luck as possible as they continue on their journey.
