Tyler Hand and Lennon Brollini

Updated: Dec 2, 2019

There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that seniors Tyler Hand and Lennon Brollini are the best of friends. They are often seen together at lunch and in their free time at school, and there is no denying that they also have quite a bit in common with one another.

I had the pleasure of getting to talk to both of these energetic boys about the development of their friendship. They met one another in freshman year, when Lennon was a new student to TGS. Lennon said that “Tyler, Liam Michallet-Ferrier, and Kira McNeill came up [to him] at lunch and just started talking with [him].” In regards to Tyler personally, Lennon thought that he “seemed funny and someone I could hang out with, which is what [he] was looking for at the time.” Tyler agrees with Lennon. He felt that Lennon was someone he clicked with, especially in regards to humor and interests.

If you were to hear one of the many conversations these boys have together, you would most likely hear them talking about various types of cars, which they have a shared interest in. They both bond over their shared love of working on cars. This is also shown through their involvement in Car Club, which meet during Friday Explorations with Mr. Young. You might also hear them talking about the video games they like to play online together. One of their favorite games to play is Rocket League.

Speaking to their love of working on cars, they did the next best thing at school together during their junior year: they built a go-cart in their Technology and Innovation class, which is run by Mr. Connor. Lennon mentioned that it wasn’t just working on the go-cart that was fun for them, but it was also getting to test out the driving capabilities. Tyler remembers getting to test it out behind the science courtyard in the dirt lot, pulling as many doughnuts as he could with it. They both laughed at those memories.

I then shifted the topic of their life towards their future and asked them where they see themselves after graduation. Tyler said he’ll be done with college in two years and wants to start working as soon as possible. He already knows what he wants to do in his career, which is welding, so he feels like he shouldn’t delay when it comes to his future. Lennon had a pretty set path for himself as well. He plans on enlisting in the Navy and eventually becoming an Aircraft Tech.

It’ll be strange not to see the two of them together during lunch next year, or not hearing their booming laughter, but rest assured, they will be doing whatever they can to make sure they are attaining their goals after their time at TGS is over.
